HD Video Baluns with Pigtail - Pair

The best method of connecting security camera to recorder, particularly over long distances. These baluns will transmit images over 500 feet between the camera and the recorder. This allows pretty much any camera to be hard wired back to the recorder.

Each CAT5 cable is made up of 4 twisted pairs internally. These video baluns require only 1 of these pairs of wires to fully function.

Single Camera Use

The most popular! When used to send the video signal of a single camera the remaining 3 pairs can be combined to send power to the camera. This is done with our DC Plugs and DC Sockets. The cable length limit on this type of use is 200ft.

Multi-Camera Use

The alternative is to send up to 4 camera feeds along a single length of CAT5 cable by using 1 pair per camera. The cameras require power locally at the camera.

Long Transmission Distances

When used with our CAT5e cable the images from the camera can be transmitted up to 500ft.

Pure Copper Cable

It is vital to ensure only pure copper CAT5 cable is used with video baluns. Avoid CCA (Copper Clad/Coated Aluminum). If a supplier doesn’t tell you that their cable is pure copper then it will be the cheaper CCA. All CAT5e cable sold at Orange Security is pure copper.
