One of the most commonly requested feature of a security camera system is the ability to access the recorder remotely over the internet. All the recorders we sell here at Orange Security can be connected to the internet and accessed remotely on either a computer, cellphone or tablet.
There are a lot of recorders that are marketed as offering native Mac accessibility however often this is just a low-quality client with a reduced feature set or accessed using an additional application other than your web browser. Not ours! Our recorders can all be accessed on either a PC or a Mac through a native web browser such as Internet Explorer on a PC and Safari on a Mac.
The access clients for both PC and Mac are packed full of great features that allow you to take almost full control of your security camera system to view live images, review recorded footage, backup footage, make settings changes and many more.
Having your recorder configured for remote access also allows us to offer you great technical support as with your consent we can connect to your recorder and review the settings on your recorder and fix any issues there may be.
If your security camera system extends to more than 1 recorder then we have available our free CMS software that can be installed and will allow you to control more than one recorder at a time – even if they are in different geographical places – they just have to be connected to the internet.
The same applies for iPhones, iPads and Android phones and tablets with apps available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Marketplace for Android.
Whilst the internet or network connection to your recorder is very resilient, it is important to at least have the ability to view your recorder locally on site – sometimes networks go down and it’s still important to be able to access the footage on your recorder.
Internet accessibility does require a little bit of setup and configuration to get working correctly. We go through all this in our Video Guides section, however if you still can’t quite get the settings just right then let us know and we will help out.
Once your recorder is set up for access over the internet, we also offer a free service of checking the settings on your recorder to ensure they are optimal. If we find anything we think could be improved, we will e-mail you a guide on how to make these changes.
